Lorenzo Styles Jr. Records Fastest 40-Yard Dash by a Buckeye at 4.27

Sonny wasn’t the only Styles brother to turn heads at the NFL Combine this weekend. His brother, Lorenzo Styles Jr., blazed a 4.27-second 40-yard dash, becoming the first Buckeye ever to break the 4.3 mark at the combine.

The previous Ohio State record of 4.31 was shared by wide receivers Curtis Samuel (2017) and Parris Campbell (2019).

Styles’ 4.27 was the fastest time among all defensive players at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine. It also tied for the ninth-fastest 40-yard dash in combine history and the fourth-fastest ever recorded by a defensive back.

In total, three Buckeyes led their respective position groups in the 40-yard dash this year. Styles topped all defensive backs, while edge rusher Arvell Reese and linebacker Sonny Styles each posted matching 4.46 times to lead their groups.
